I know there are a lot of food blogs out there, but this one is a little different.
First of all, my kitchen is very basic. I don't have a food processor. I don't have fancy knives. I don't have cast iron cookware. That means I'm cooking for the layman using cheap pans, dull knives and a wine bottle for a rolling pin.
I'm not domestic. I work a crappy job and cook in my free time for my own pleasure. I don't live in Paris or Italy. I live in Cambridge, MA and buy most of my ingredients from Trader Joe's. This is not exotic, but neither are most of my readers going to be. They're not going to have access to fancy ingredients any more than I will.
Most of all it's going to be the scope of the blog that's different. I'll probably post about my cooking endeavors at home (not nearly as exciting as a lot of food blogs) but more importantly, I'm going to be trying to get strangers to trade me goods and services in exchange for food, mostly pies.
This blog really is going to try and answer the question: What would you trade for a homemade pie?
